Day 7. Friday, September 5. Another clear sunny day. We wasted little time breaking camp and were soon on the trail. As the bird flies, we did not have far to go, but as the non-flying sort, we had to take the long way around. We retraced much of the trip of the day before except to say the stream-crossing above "Horsehead Lake" could be a wet crossing in early season, perhaps difficult. We also had the advantage of knowing where the trail was, such as it is, and the going was fairly swift for "cross-country".
