Following the crest northward, you can see Midway Mountain, Table Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Longly Pass, South Guard, Mt. Brewer, North Guard, and Cross Mountain. Down below you can see one of the Ranger Lakes. Sugarloaf Valley awaits below to the left.

At the highest point of the pass, turn right and drop your pack on the nearby
rock benches you will see south of you down the ridge. Get your camera ready if you brought one. Further on is
a group of higher rocks: climb to the top of one of the highest, break out a snack and begin to enjoy the fine
views!
At the southern-most part of the Great Western Divide in view, you can see Milestone Mountain. Following the crest
northward, you can see Midway Mountain, Table Mountain, Thunder Mountain, Longly Pass, South Guard, Mt. Brewer,
North Guard, and Cross Mountain. To the northwest you can see many other peaks on or near the Sierra Crest, including
Mt. Goddard. To the southwest and the left of Mt. Silliman you see the vast granite ramp leading up to the Tablelands.
With a good map and compass, you can spend a pleasant time identifying major geographical features.
