A Solo Hike Along the Silver Divide
Papoose Lake. Beyond is the junction with the JMT/PCT trail, on that ridge aboce.
Papoose Lake
Silver Divide Trip from Edison Lake Trailhead, August-September 2001
I rested a bit by the lake before continuing on, because it would be another ~125 foot climb to Papoose Lake and another ~100 feet of climbing to the JMP/PCT trail. After that, it would be another ~350 feet of climbing to Silver Pass. Actually about 791 feet of gain, all told. Resting is good.

Back on the trail, it did not take me long to get to Papoose Lake, even though the gain was annoyingly steep in places. The climb past pretty Papoose Lake on narrow wilderness trail was more entertaining, with interesting views all around. Presently, the junction with the JMT/PCT came into view, and I was back on the Sierra super-highway.
