Sphinx Lakes in Kings Canyon
Finally the stairs begin to level out after turning a granite nose. Looking back you can admire all the altitude you have gained and the trail blasted out of solid rock.
At the Top of the Stairs
After about 1000 feet of this hard work the trail levels out and heads around a steep granite nose amid great views up Sphinx Creek and falls, Kings Canyon, and Bubbs Creek canyon. You can look across to the Copper Creek Trail to check your upward progress, something you can do the entire trip to Sphinx Lakes.
