Sphinx Lakes in Kings Canyon

The shore of the highest of the two lakes nearly linked together. This lake is actually several feet higher than its eastern brother. The Sphinx Crest looms behind the lake.

From here you can go on to the southern-most large lake in easy cross-country. Turn the lake on the right. And what a setting for camping! The whole basin is surrounded by huge pointed barren towering monster-peaks of every description.
