Brewer Basin: A "Pocket Basin"

We headed around a large granite shoulder, marveling how misleading maps can be when representing these lofty white granite halls and surrounding peaks. The hiking was easy now, and we had time to be impressed with the endless slab pavement, intimate grassy flower decorated swards, the glacial erratics, the towering peaks soaring up to a thundering 13,000 feet or more. We could admire the view down the valley, the clear lakes scattered about the basin and the sounds of falling and cascading waters filling the still air.
