Sphinx Lakes in Kings Canyon
From the switchbacks leading to Buubs Creek you can look up canyon towards Paradise Valley.
Middle Fork Kings Canyon
The switchbacks leading up to Bubbs Creek canyon are well graded, preferable to the sand flats below, and offer great views down Kings Canyon and up the canyon towards Paradise Valley. A keen eye will be able to detect traces of the old trail alongside the newer trail, a reminder that the trail is historic, a trade route for Native Americans well before the white man, and was a route used by the great naturalist John Muir. Also note that if some had their way, you would now be standing at the base of a dam, and looking at a reservoir below impounding yet more water for unquenchable Los Angles.
