The Tuolumne River bridge is interesting because it allows wider views away from trees, and you can stand above the dangerously racing waters beneath your feet, hurtling towards "Glen Aulin Cascade". Fall in and you will die.

You can get a pretty good view of White Cascade, although those pesky trees get in the way of a clear view. Also the bridge over Cold Creek is in full view. Just remember that the ends of the bridges can be under water early season and high water (as was the case for these pictures on this page).

After my viewing session, I headed down the trail for McGee Lake. There are a lot of features in the Sierra named McGee, but I could find no mention of where this Yosemite McGee Lake got its name.

It is only about 200 feet of climbing to get to where the trail levels out past the PCT junction and onto the McGee Lake trail, and I found the walk to be a rather nice one. I actually came on a patch of snow in the deep shade of trees. Once the trail leveled out in thick forest, it did not take long to see McGee Lake through the trees.
