The Benson Lake Loop
Looking south from Seavey Pass. The trail comes up the joint on the left. This area was a highlight of the trip.
Seavey Pass
The Benson Lake Loop, August 2002
On the roller-coaster trail swooped and turned then finally climbed Seavey Pass, a passage through a master joint. The other side dropped down on two small dried up ponds and headed downward north-west. At on point the trail reached another joint and I could look down the joint to the south-west and see one of the pretty larger lakes, and access to it looked trivial from that point. I should have walked down there of a look, but cold, wind and trail fever kept me on the trail. The last small lake seen from the trail in this area, if you are heading north. There is a camp down there. If you have a 7.5 map, look for the words Seavey Pass on the map and look north-west and find the last "S" of the large type "Wilderness". The lake is at the "S". This is looking south-west.
