Circle the Cirque Crest

This is the first lake you come to on the Horseshoe Lakes trail, and you see it from the other end of this lake. There are a few rocky and poor campsites above the shore, but at this end there are much better camps. After you set up your camp you may be treated with a sunset like this, but if you do see this, well, I hope your tent is waterproof...

Horseshoe Lakes: Storm

At just about dusk Kalon came rambling in after his long hike from Kennedy Pass. Also there to greet him was blustery wind and as it grew dark, rain. It was not looking good. We helped Kalon as much as we could, chatted some, hung his food with ours once he had something to eat, and then headed for bed to get out of the rain. It rained and thundered off and on all night. At least it was cool enough to get a good sleep.
