Kern-Kaweah and Kaweah Basins

For every picture I have shown you, there is four or more you never see. About 60 pictures I prepared for this story did not make it in (and I took many more). I wish I could show you all the pictures I have of Picket Lake, for example. Mid horizon glaring whitely is Mt. Whitney.

Eventually I made it back to "Picket Lake" and sat down to absorb the view as much as possible. I noted a line of small rocks that outlined an obvious tent site. Lucky people. I explored a bit, following the outlet down a ways, as it became a noisy cascade falling into the canyon below. There did not seem a good place to cross the stream, but I am sure it was possible.

After Dave showed up we continued our rest and observations, then reluctantly put our gear back on and departed the lake. I really loved that place.
