A Backpack Cross-Country Traverse of the Minarets

Ashley Lake falls near the shore of the lake. It looks easy to get over there and to hike up and beyond the falls along the stream. Lots of late season water after a very heavy winter. Call it one of the headwaters of King Creek, or Doyle Creek, whichever. ;)

If you are full of energy and want to try something different getting to Holcomb Lake, you could try following the waterfall creek back into its basin. Cross-County was nearly always easy on this trip, the way on the map looks good and not steep, and it looks good from the Holcomb Lake side too. If you have the time, give it a try (on your own responsibility).
