Minaret Lake Morning

A Cross-Country Traverse of the Minarets, August/September 2006

One of the advantages of hiking on the east side of the Sierra is the alpin-glow of morning. The Minarets just glowed gold in the morning light.

Minatets Trip

Still a bit of wind at dawn on Minaret Lake. Looking towards the outlet.

Minatets Trip

Clyde Minaret in morning alpin-glow. Norman Clyde climbed that thing for the first time by himself.

As usual for a last day, we were up at the crack of dawn packing. Dave was chomping at the bit so I told him to "release the hounds", so he galloped off. It is a pleasant walk back, so I did not mind at all. It is our usual way.
