A Backpack Cross-Country Traverse of the Minarets
Shadow Creek flows into Shadow Lake.
Agnew Meadow and JMT Junction
A Cross-Country Traverse of the Minarets, August/September 2006The JMT super-freeway reaches the Agnew Meadow access trail after an easy ~.8 miles of typical Sierra hiking a bit on the easy side of effort. On my 1999 trip, I had gone from Agnew Meadow trailhead to Shadow Lake to Ediza/Iceberg Lake to this junction, and then south on the JMT.
If you too are doing this Minaret Traverse and you ended the traverse at Ediza Lake, and you want to get back to Mammoth, you may want to go out at the Agnew Meadow trailhead. The Mammoth bus stops at Agnew Meadow. If that is the case, then you may want to look at the Agnew Meadow trail part of the story by hitting that button below. Otherwise, if you are looping back to the starting point of this story, continue down the JMT part of the story by hitting that button below. You can still see both by navigation the correct buttons. See below. The Shadow Creek Bridge near the junction of the JMT and Agnew Meadow trail to the trailhead.
The "Next" button continues south on the JMT on its way to the JMT Minaret Lake junction.
The "Next" button below goes to the Agnew Meadow hike, the end of which you will find a "Back" button that brings you back here.
