Kettle Ridge
If you saw the previous page image, you saw this same ridge from Portal Lake in different light from a different direction. It is morning here, and you are looking down on a corner of Crown basin from the ridge that separates the meadows below Portal Lake and Crown Basin. Directly above the large lake pictured above you can see the entrance to the hanging valley leading to Mantle Pass and the cross-country route to get there. There is very good camping near the lake below in the trees.
