The Ottoway Lakes Loop

Ottoway Lakes Loop Trip

Lake 9911 feet. I believe there was a camp on the other side, and I am sure there are camps in the area, despite the workings of Rangers.

Lake 9911

The Ottoway Lakes Loop, September 2004

After a few minutes of hiking, the trail passes Lake 9911. I did not see any obvious camps (which I know must be there) but strangely, there was a fire-ring on top of a rock above the trail. The lake looked like another good option for camping, in particular for anyone approaching Red Peak Pass from the north. It would be a great morning starting point to take on the pass, as would be Red Devil Lake. It was a very nice picturesque lake in rocky terrain.
