A Solo Hike Along the Silver Divide
What more could you ask from a lake? This one is so nice, they should rename it after me! This is a nice lake. I loved it.
Wilber May LakeSilver Divide Trip from Edison Lake Trailhead, August-September 2001
Sighing with relief, I headed for the lake, which turned out to be a fair walk with only a few sections of steepness that were mercifully short and endurable. I met some day-hikers leaving the area that told me I had the place to myself, which was a relief also. I arrived at the lake and after a short search found an outstanding camp where I unloaded and collapsed into my chair.
My camp at the lake. Even the camp was perfect, if not total wilderness. Sometimes these kinds of camps are nice.
After about 20 minutes of eating and re-hydrating, I was ready to explore. The lake and camp was excellent, and after looking around I noted my camp was the only really level established camp in the area. My camp had a fire-ring and packer-benches, with plenty of firewood. The tent spot was a small level area surrounded by small moon-blocking trees with a wide entrance at one end. Large flat rocks provided nice granite kitchen counter-tops, and there was a made-to-order spot for my pack and my belongings. Life was good.
