A Solo Hike Along the Silver Divide
Peter Panda Lake from near my camp, looking towards the Silver Divide. I love mornings like these.
Morning at Peter Panda Lake
Silver Divide Trip from Edison Lake Trailhead, August-September 2001
Day 5, Tuesday, 4 SEPT, 01 The morning dawned bright and clear, and the had storm just dried up and went away. I quickly packed and headed out: I had a long way to go. I would be going from Peter Panda Lake to Pocket Meadow Overlook, at 9.2 Miles, 2045 foot gain and a 2347 foot loss.
The climb out of the basin was much easier than climbing down, as expected. I bet horses hate that section.
Looking towards Graveyard Lakes Pass and Graveyard Peak, looking over the unnamed lake at 10,151 feet.
I took a moment to stroll over to the unnamed lake to take yet another picture then headed back to the trail. The stroll back to the main trail was even more pleasant that the hike that got me to the lake, mainly because it was mostly down hill and I was fresh. That only served to elevate my appreciation of the beauty of my surroundings. This was what wilderness was all about. It, unfortunately, did not take long to get to the main trail.
