A Walk on the Tablelands

Table10

At the East edge of Alta Meadow is a small hill and this view. Some convenient rocks allow views down into the Buck Creek drainage, and yet more views of the Great Western Divide. At the top left is Black Kaweah and Kaweah Gap just below it. At the far right is Sawtooth Peak. Get out a map to figure out the other peaks names! (Hint: Eagle Scout Peak can be easily seen along with Lippincot peak.)

Not ANOTHER Great View!?

Back in camp at last, we set up for the night, and explored the immediate area. There are several granite spires lower down in the area, some that would be a challenge to rock-climbers. The views could not be beat, and the location was ideal. What was not ideal was the great pest of the trip: mosquitoes.
