A Walk on the Tablelands
Below, the unnamed lake looked like an inviting place to camp for anybody heading up to the Tablelands from below.
Junctions of Ridges
The trick was not to lose any altitude while painlessly gaining the required altitude. The route followed the easy class 1 ridge NW over glacier smoothed granite, with ever impressive views behind us. The way was very fast going, only slowed down by my massive heel blister which hurt the most going up hill, naturally.
Near a junction of ridges I looked back at the impressive panorama of the Great Western Divide over the calm reflective waters of Moose Lake. Throughout this trip, everywhere you looked there were great views and panoramas of every kind in the near views and the far. It was like looking at a vast 3D map with named features easily identified.
Before the summit of the ridge we turned right (seeing a duck or two) along a bench that took us north to another junction of ridges, and a great view of Table Meadows and a lake with trees just below that looked like a good place to camp if it were not for the hoards of mosquitoes that were presently dogging us.
