A Walk on the Tablelands
As you can see, the pass has generous views and ample parking. To the right is the Buck Creek Drainage.
On the Pass, Off My Feet!
The pass itself was practically a walkup with a tiny bit of scrambling to get to the top. It was now about 11:30 AM.
At this point my feet were killing me. Blisters were trying to form on my big toes to sing along with the one on my heel, and the lack of sole flexibility in my mountaineering boots was causing my feet great pain in general. Never use mountaineering boots for long hikes! Later I would find out how much better my feet would feel hiking in my camp shoes. So as soon as I got to the pass I took off my boots first thing for a massage and treatment.
