As I headed up the trail and the summit came into view I began to laugh for the joy of it all. I laughed for the joy of the vistas spread out before me. I laughed for the joy of the trail. I laughed for the joy of how I felt, and I felt very good. I laughed for all of the wonderful and amazing things all around me. I laughed because I knew that at last I would make it to the summit of Mt. Whitney.
