Once you tear your eyes from this daunting view ("We're going over THAT?!"), look to your right (west) to the group of trees and the most excellent camp sites there, as well as perfect trees to hang your food from. Marmots abound in the area, as well as other rodents. Further in the small forest there are other camp sites. There is plenty of open and fairly level granite in the area, so you can fling your sack and pad on the glacially scoured pavement and sleep under the stars to the music of the tumbling and frothing waters. You have reached a backpacker paradise.
