A Backpack to the Remote Lyell Fork of the Merced River

The Lyell Fork Canyon! Electra Peak is the one with the most snow, dead center. Mt Ansel Adams is the rocky pointed one on the back right horizon. The further right peak with the green has no name.

A Trail and Cross-Country Route to the Lyell Fork, July 2007

At one point the trail rounded a corner and suddenly I was in an exposed area that gave me a view of, at last after so many years thinking about it, the Lyell Fork of the Merced River!

Looking in another direction from my vantage point, the Merced Peak Fork (see the peak?) and on the left horizon, the Yosemite Triple Divide Peak. There is a trail way down there...
