A Short Trip in the Pioneer Basin Area

Pioneer Basin featuring the largest lake in the basin. Mono Pass is just left of center. Fourth Recess is center. Mt. Mills is on the far right. Mt. Starr is on the left center horizon. Our camp lake is way down there to the right.

Climbing higher near the inlet stream of the largest basin lake gave us a full view of the basin. Snow certainly adds to the pleasantness of the view. The cross country could not have been easier and we made rapid progress that took us over 11,000 feet. We headed for the highest lake of the Basin.
