A Solo Hike Along the Silver Divide
The morning calm lasted for a good while. This was the view from the trail towards the end of the lake, looking east.
Heading for Anne Lake
Silver Divide Trip from Edison Lake Trailhead, August-September 2001
Although the maps do not show it, the trail extends all the way around the north-west shore of the lake to nearly the outlet stream of Anne Lake, where there is a packer camp. Walking this trail, I was treated to increasingly fantastic views of the Sierra Crest reflected in the waters of the lake. Campers have a choice of camping where I was presently camped with views of the Silver Divide, or camping at the end of the lake with views of the Sierra Crest. This new camp was situated on a small bench with fair shade and a nearby stream.Turning my feet upward, I headed for Anne Lake.
Another view eastward over Peter Panda Lake from the bench Anne Lake sits on.
The cross-country was excessively easy, a stroll in the park, and the higher I got, the better the views to the east. Once at the top I spent a few minutes taking pictures and admiring the views of the Sierra Crest.
