Olive Lake
Silver Divide Trip from Edison Lake Trailhead, August-September 2001
Again, the route-finding was easy and the travel quick, and with a little backtracking around the more complex terrain of point 10,283, I found an excellent little bench to set out my lunch and point above a high cliff with views all around.
Looking down Minnow Creek Canyon. Almost mid-picture is the canyon of Purple Lake by the JMT/PCT.
Below my feet was Olive Lake, another very worthy destination with what looked like ideal camping and fishing in a more protected canyon. It had larger groves of tall trees and larger expanses of granite than Peter Panda Lake, and I wanted to visit it. Perhaps someday.
