Sphinx Lakes in Kings Canyon

Near the outlet of the lowest large lake in the Sphinx Lakes basin you are treated to waters that are only this clear this high.

A shoulder ridge leads to the large Sphinx Lakes where you will find several nice camps among stunted trees and even an illegal fire-ring. You first come to the shore of the eastern large lake and the outlet of Sphinx Creek, and a very good trail leads to the slightly higher western large lake.
