A Walk on the Tablelands

The trail junction, where many a pack train takes the right junction and heads for the High Sierra Trail and beyond.

The Junction to Alta Meadows and Peak

At about the 3.5 mile mark into our walk we came to the trail junction leading down to the High Sierra Trail. We took the left fork and shortly afterwards we were back into the viewless trees and among the shaded campsites near Mehrten Meadows.
