A Walk on the Tablelands

Table32

Without carefully looking at the map, you would never guess the Tablelands hid such jewels such as this pretty tarn just past point 10860. The lip of the Tablelands beckon from the near horizon above.

Hidden Treasures

We passed point 10860 to the left over erratic studded granite pavement and began dropping down on easy ramps to a large pretty flower laden lawn flanked lake. At the NE end was a huge lawn below a wide grassy ramp leading upwards to finally meet a grassy joint.
We followed this route until we were forced out of the joint by snow. Continuing the easy travel onward, a small ridge was summited revealing the final slope to the rim of the Tablelands. The area was living up to its name by beginning to look very table-like, with large flat areas of grass and sand in this sea of granite.
