A Walk on the Tablelands

Here be a wealth of peaks. To the left Triple Divide Peak, to the far right, Black Kaweah, and in the center, "Big Bird Peak". Below is the two small lakes directly above hidden Big Bird Lake.

We walked about to see what could be seen in this nearly magical place before walking back to our packs to enjoy more food and water in a high dry and cool sunny place amid the tarns and snow.

We then headed out for better views: hopefully of Big Bird Cirque. After a short near ¼ mile SE and another 180 foot gain, we again dropped packs and approached the rim for an overlook of interesting lake 10485, but we were disappointed by not being able to see Big Bird Cirque, which was hidden in its deep cirque beyond the lake below.
