The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne and Falls
Falls Ridge forms the backdrop for whitewater hurrying down the steep canyon.
Cascade Alley
The Grand Canyon of the Tuolumne and Falls, June 2004The trail again neared the river next to an agitated pool of water that seemed anxious to be on its way down the canyon. This particular area looked like a great spot to drop the pack and leave the trail to get closer to the cascades and explore the garden-like riverbanks and clean slabs of granite.
Instead, we pushed on to climb again up-trail, which soon hooked right and fairly leveled out for a good distance beneath the vertical face of Wildcat Point.
Another smallish pool and a great spot over there by the falls for a lunch or whatever.
